Since 2002, Moriches Community Center has provided holiday assistance to local needy families whose names are provided by school social workers and other community not for profit organizations. Follow the link to find out ways you can help!

Imagine you couldn't provide Thanksgiving or Christmas for your family. Sadly, this will be true for more than a few local families this coming holiday season. Fortunately, Moriches Community Center, local students and other generous community businesses and members will be doing something to change that.

In 2010, MCC experienced our most successful Holiday Outreach fundraising ever. Thanks to the enthusiastic help of students at Center Moriches Schools and Red Robin preschool, and the financial generosity of local businesses, community members and agencies, MCC was able to provide food baskets at Thanksgiving and toys, clothing, food and other items at Christmas to 29 needy community families whose names were provided by school social workers, and 22 children at our local homeless shelter. Special thanks go to our Peer Leadership students who organized "Santa's Workshop" fundraisers, Rico Memorial Foundation, Knapp Swezey Foundation, Brookhaven Interface Toy Drive, Red Robin preschool food and toy drive, and our wonderful shoppers, wrappers and those who adopted a child or family. Every donation, large or small, contributed to the success of last season's "Santa's Workshop" holiday outreach program, and the recipients were touched and so thankful for our assistance.
